Saturday Morning we woke up early and headed out to Borrego Springs. This is one of my favorite day rides. You can’t really ride it in the summer time because it’s just way too f’n hot. But Saturday it was perfect. Well we used our heated gear, but only because we have it. It was in the 60’s, we didn’t like need it, it’s just so nice to have.
Mr. Chickthatrides found us a little dirt road, said we had been on it before, but I couldn’t remember it.
My favorite part of the ride is Montezuma road and S22. A beautiful twisty road that winds around big rocky hills and dumps you into the flat desert of Borrego Springs.
Throughout the area you will find cool metal sculptures of everything from giant tortoises to Jeeps. Killer, I know. (Here is some info and a map)
Sitting in the dirt next to a giant scorpion and grasshopper we ate turkey sandwiches from the night before’s turkey dinner.
